I want to extend my congratulations to Holly Hassmann, this year’s recipient of the Guardian Angel Award. Holly’s dedication to Children’s Medical Center goes beyond the walls of the hospital. She is a remarkable woman who has dedicated her life to helping young patients and their families. Holly’s outstanding work and commitment encompass Children’s Medical Center’s fundamental goal of providing exceptional patient care.
In 1997, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Perot created the Guardian Angel Award, an award to be given to Southwestern Medical District employees, other than doctors, “who do outstanding things to improve the medical center and to help make the world a better place through medicine.” I was honored when the Perots named the Award for me during my time at UT Southwestern as Vice President for External Relations. I am even more grateful to stand by others who have been recognized since then for their outstanding contributions to the Southwestern Medical District.
